Saving a Bookmark file in Internet Explorer

1. From the File menu, select the option Import and Export.

2. Select the option Export to a file and click on Next.

3. In the next screen select Favorites and click on Next.

4. In the next screen again click on Favorites and click on Next.

5. Now choose the destination where you want to save your bookmarks and click onExport.

6. In the next screen click on Finish.

Now you have successfully saved all your bookmarks in a .HTM file. You can use this file to later restore the bookmarks to either IE, Firefox or any other browser. To import the saved bookmarks from a file all you need to do is goto File menu, click on Import and Export, select the option Import from a file and proceed with the screen instructions.

1. From the Bookmarks menu on the top select the option Organize Bookmarks.

2. A window will pop-up. From the window click on Import and Backup at the top and select the option Export HTML.

As the fraudsters are now becoming more sophisticated in bypassing the Geo-location controls by using proxies (Anonymous IPs) to spoof their IP address, it has become very much necessary to come up with a means for detecting the proxies so that the authenticity of the users can be verified. Using a proxy (web proxy) is the simplest and easiest way to conceal the IP address of an Internet user and maintain the online privacy. However proxies are more widely used by online fraudsters to engage in cyber crimes since it is the easiest way to hide their actual Geo-location such as city/country through a spoofed IP address. Following are some of the examples where fraudsters use the proxies to hide their actual IP.

1. Credit Card Frauds

For example, say a Nigerian fraudster tries to purchase goods online with a stolen credit card for which the billing address is associated with New York. Most credit card merchants use Geo-location to block orders from countries like Nigeria and other high risk countries. So in order to bypass this restriction the credit card fraudster uses a proxy to spoof his IP address so that it appears to have come from New York. The IP address location appears to be legitimate since it is in the same city as the billing address. A proxy check would be needed to flag this order.

2. Bypass Website Country Restrictions

Some website services are restricted to users form only a selected list of countries. For example, a paid survey may be restricted only to countries like United States and Canada. So a user from say China may use a proxy so as to make his IP appear to have come from U.S. so that he can earn from participating in the paid survey.

Proxy Detection Services

So in order to stop such online frauds, Proxy Detection has become a critical component. Today most companies, credit card merchants and websites that deal with e-commerce transactions make use of Proxy Detection Services like MaxMind and FraudLabs to detect the usage of proxy or spoofed IP from users participating online.

Proxy Detection web services allow instant detection of anonymous IP addresses. Even though the use of proxy address by users is not a direct indication of fraudulent behaviour, it can often indicate the intention of the user to hide his or her real IP. In fact, some of the most used ISPs like AOL and MSN are forms of proxies and are used by both good and bad consumers.

How Proxy Detection Works?

Proxy detection services often rely on IP addresses to determine whether or not the IP is a proxy. Merchants can obtain the IP address of the users from the HTTP header on the order that comes into their website. This IP address is sent to the proxy detecting service in real time to confirm it’s authenticity.

The proxy detection services on the other hand compare this IP against a known list of flagged IPs that belong to proxy services. If the IP is not on the list then it is authenticated and the confirmation is sent back to the merchant. Otherwise it is reported to be a suspected proxy. These proxy detection services work continuously to grab a list or range of IPs that are commonly used for proxy services. With this it is possible to tell whether or not a given IP address is a proxy or spoofed IP.

How to Tell Whether a given IP is Real or a Proxy?

There are a few free sites that help you determine whether or not a given IP is a proxy. You can use free services like WhatisMyIPAddress to detect proxy IPs. Just enter the suspected IP in the field and click on “Lookup IP Address” button to check the IP address. If it is a suspected proxy then you will see the results something as follows.

This feature was introduced in order to prevent any unauthorized changes from being made to the system files. However it can be little annoying to follow a long list of procedure every time you want to take ownership of a certain file or folder. So to make this job simpler, I have found a nice tool called Take Ownership Shell Extension which adds the “Take Ownership” option to the Windows context menu. This makes taking ownership too simple and requires no more than a click.

Just run the portable tool kit and click on the “Install” button. This will add the “Take Ownership” option onto the context menu. To take ownership all you need to do is, just right-click on any of the desired file or folder and click the option “Take Ownership“

This Product ID is a system specific alphanumeric code which is derived/calculated based on the Windows product key you use and the hardware configuration of your Computer. Acer neoTouch P300 Review...

Windows Phone 7 may be just around the corner, but we’re still expecting a few new handsets based on the outgoing version of Windows Mobile to be launched in the intervening months. Acer’s neoTouch P300 was announced at MWC 2010 back in February, a WinMo 6.5.3 device with a hardware keyboard and European 3G. Check out our full review after the cut.

Based on Qualcomm’s MSM7225 528MHz processor, the neoTouch P300 has a 3.2-inch WQVGA resistive touchscreen, 256MB of RAM and 512MB ROM, together with a microSD card slot and slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Connectivity includes quadband GSM and 2100MHz HSDPA, along with WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and a 3.5mm headphone socket, plus there’s A-GPS and a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera. The whole thing measures in at a reasonably compact 110 x 55 x 15.1 mm and weighs 130.6g with the 1010mAh battery.

To be honest, none of the specifications particularly stand out – the CPU, for instance, can be found powering numerous Windows Phones from the past few years – and the resistive touchscreen (complete with stylus) seems deeply unfashionable in comparison to other devices on the market today. Physical design of the P300 is sober but neat, with three buttons running along the lower front panel – call, Windows and hang-up – together with a hardware ringer switch that doubles as a volume control and a camera shortcut on the right-hand side. Up top there’s a power/lock button, a 3.5mm headphone socket, and a flap covering the microUSB port and microSD card slot. On the bottom there’s the speaker and a tricky-to-remove stylus.

Slide the display section across, and the QWERTY keyboard is revealed. The keys are moulded plastic and have little travel, in fact they reminded us of the ‘board you’d find on the old Samsung F700. As for layout, it’s generally good but the offset spacebar is shunted across to the left by the Mail and @-symbol keys, whereas if we’re forced to have an offset button we’d rather it fall under our right thumb. Opening the phone automatically rotates the display, though there’s a little lag in the process.

In the hand, the P300 feels like a reasonably budget device, the plain, plasticky back cover being particularly uninspiring. Still, the slide section feels sturdy, and the keyboard is backlit, which is useful for pecking out late-night messages. The display, meanwhile, is underwhelming, its low resolution leading to blocky text. Trying to view SlashGear in Internet Explorer Mobile, we had to zoom in (in portrait orientation) at least once before article text was readable. The Windows Mobile 6.5.3 menus are more forgiving, however, and Microsoft’s attempts to accommodate stylus-free navigation are reasonably finger-friendly. Most dialogs and menus could be travelled without having to resort to the stylus, though sometimes we had to resort to a fingernail.

While 6.5.3 may be ageing in comparison to Android, iPhone OS and other platforms currently on the market, it still does some things well. If you use a Microsoft Exchange server for your email, calendar and contacts then the straightforward setup and automatic push-email means you’re up and running in no time at all, and it was simple to connect to a WiFi network. The Windows Mobile Facebook app is preloaded, together with a YouTube viewer; the latter works surprisingly well, automatically playing videos full-screen, and while there’s insufficient pixels for YouTube HD content, standard definition looks acceptable and has the added benefit of streaming more quickly. Sound from the integrated speaker can be cranked up reasonably loudly, though it begins to distort at higher levels. Plugging in a set of headphones – there’s a basic wired hands-free kit in the box, but after a brief listen we bypassed that and used our own – gives better results.

Pressing and holding the camera shortcut for a few seconds loads up the photo app – it takes around 10 seconds in all – and there’s a decent amount of tweaking potential in Acer’s software. Up to 2048 x 1536 resolution pictures can be taken (or 320 x 240 video clips) with a choice of digital image stabilisation, low-light and outdoor modes, independent brightness/contrast/sharpness adjustment and various shooting modes and effects. The end results are passable but certainly nothing you’d abandon your point-and-shoot camera for, and the lack of even an LED flash means that – despite the nighttime profile – this is a camera designed for daytime use. We did find that, while the P300 should be able to save photos to its meagre onboard storage, trying to take shots without a memory card inserted seemed to crash the camera app altogether and kick us back into the main menu. The ability to slot in a microSD without having to remove the battery or even the back cover made a nice change, though.

Phone performance was decent, though there’s no noise cancellation or DSP like you’d find on more expensive smartphones. Still, both ends of the call reported little background hiss, while the speakerphone was loud and clear. Battery life from the 1010mAh pack is rated at up to 4hrs talktime or 400hrs standby, though with push-email enabled you won’t make it through two days back-to-back. As with most smartphones we see, this is something you’ll be recharging nightly if you’re making regular use of it.

Viewed in comparison to some of the more eye-catching smartphones we’ve reviewed lately, the Acer neoTouch P300 lacks the appeal of a fashionable OS and the hardware specs of a flagship like the HTC HD2. However, it also lacks the high-end price tag, too; Clove, who sent us this review unit, have the P300 listed at £269 plus VAT (£316), whereas the HD2 retails at £395 plus VAT (£464). We’re yet to see any of the European carriers offer the P300, but we’d imagine that it’d likely be priced from free with a relatively low cost monthly tariff.

Not much consumer attraction, then, but as a solid business device the P300 doesn’t break the bank or let you down in day to day functionality. It’s easy to become blinkered when faced with the latest and greatest cellphones day in, day out, and lose track of the fact that, for many buyers, basic features are all that’s really needed. Still, we’d probably look to budget Android devices ourselves; the HTC Hero may not have a hardware keyboard, but it’s only £20 (pre-tax) more. Our lasting concern is the longevity of Windows Mobile 6.5.3 – or, more accurately, the lack of it – since there’s no chance that the neoTouch P300 would see an upgrade to Windows Phone 7 later in the year. Nevertheless, even if superseded, the software will still do everything you asked of the P300 on the day you bought it, and there’s a considerable catalog of third-party apps available through the Windows Marketplace for Mobile that won’t run on a WP7 handset. We’d be happier if the P300 had a little more shaved off the price – a sub-£200 SIM-free smartphone would make for a decent argument – but if your ambitions are merely moderate and you’re dedicated to Exchange then the Acer is a reasonable no-frills budget buy.

I know most of you are new to the concept of keyloggers. For some of you, this might be the first time you heard about the term “keylogger”. So to give you a clear picture and make you understand better I would like to take up this post in the form of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions). Here we go…

1. What is a Keylogger?

A keylogger (also called as spy software) is a small program that monitors each and every keystroke a user types on a specific computer’s keyboard. A keylogger program can be installed just in a few seconds and once installed you are only a step away from getting the victim’s password.

2. How Keylogger works?

Once the keylogger is installed on a PC, it starts operating in the background (stealth mode) and captures every keystroke of the victim on that PC. Let’s take up a small example: The victim goes to http://mail.yahoo.com and types his “username” and the “password” in the respective fields to login. The keylogger silently records these keystrokes and stores them in the logs. These logs when opened up shows the captured “username” and “password” and will also tell you that they were typed in the Yahoo login page. Thus the keylogger loads upon every startup, runs in the background and captures each and every keystroke.

3. How to install the keylogger?

A keylogger can be installed just like any other program. Just follow the screen instructions and you’re done.

4. Do I need any special knowledge to install and use the keylogger?

Absolutely NOT! Anyone with a basic computer knowledge can install and use the keylogger. It requires no special skills.

5. Once I install the keylogger can the victim come to know about it’s presence?

No. The victim will never come to know about the presence of the keylogger on his/her computer. This is because, once installed the keylogger will run in total stealth mode. Unlike other programs it will never show up in start-menu, start-up, program files, add/remove programs and task manager. So the victim can no way identify it’s presence on his/her PC.

6. Can I be traced back if I install the keylogger on some other computer?

No, it’s almost impossible to trace back to you for installing the keylogger on other’s PC.

Display Legal Notice on Startup of your Windows...

If your PC has multiple users then you can now display legal notice to every user before they login to your PC. This legal notice will be displayed at every startup just before the Desktop is loaded. Using this you can tell your friends about the do’s and dont’s in your computer when they login in your absence. Well you can do this pretty easily. For this there is one small registry hack. Here is the step-by-step instruction to do this.

1. Go to Start->Run, type regedit and hit ENTER

2. Navigate to the following key in the registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

\policies\system

On the right side pane look for “legalnoticecaption“, double click on it and enter the desired Legal Notice Caption.

3. Next below this look for “legalnoticetext” and enter the desired Legal Notice Text. The legal notice text can be up to a page in it’s size so that it can include a set of do’s and dont’s for your computer.

4. After you do this just restart your computer and upon the next startup you can see the legal notice information for your computer. This trick works on both XP and Vista. You can also try it on Windows 7 and should work with no problems.

In this post I will show how to use Google for exploiting security vulnerabilities within websites. The following are some of the hacks that can be accomplished using Google.

1. Hacking Security Cameras
There exists many security cameras used for monitoring places like parking lots, college campus, road traffic etc. which can be hacked using Google so that you can view the images captured by those cameras in real time. All you have to do is use the following search query in Google. Type in Google search box exactly as follows and hit enter

Click on any of the search results (Top 5 recommended) and you will gain access to the live camera which has full controls. You will see something as follows

As you can see in the above screenshot, you now have access to the Live cameras which work in real-time. You can also move the cameras in all the four directions, perform actions such as zoom in and zoom out. This camera has really a less refresh rate. But there are other search queries through you can gain access to other cameras which have faster refresh rates. So to access them just use the following search query.

Using Google it is possible to gain access to an email repository containing CV of hundreds of people which were created when applying for their jobs. The documents containing their Address, Phone, DOB, Education, Work experience etc. can be found just in seconds.

Make Invisible Password Protected Folder Easily...

Step-1: Create a new folder (Right-click -> New -> Folder) and give it any name of your choice. For instance I name it as ABC.

Step-2: Now in this folder place all the important files, documents or any folders that you want to password protect.

Step-3: Now Right-click on this folder (ABC) and select the option Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Step-4: Now a new compressed zipped folder gets created next this folder (ABC) with the same name.

Step-5: Double-click on this compressed zipped folder and you should see your original folder (ABC) here.

Step-6: Now goto the File menu and select the option Add a password.

ie: File -> Add a password

Now a small window will pop up and here you can set your desired password. Once the password is set, the folder will ask for the password every time it is opened. Thus you have now created the password protected folder.

How to make it Invisible

Step-1: Now Right-click on this password protected folder and select Properties.

Step-2: At the bottom select the option Hidden and press OK. Now your folder gets invisible (hidden).

Step-3: In order to unhide this folder go to My Computer – >Tools -> Folder options. Switch to View tab, scroll down and under Hidden files and folders you’ll see the following two options

Do not show hidden files and folders
Show hidden files and folders

Now select the second option and press OK. Now the invisible folder becomes visible in it’s location. To access it you need the password. To make it invisible again repeat step -1 through step-3 and select the first option and click OK. Now the folder becomes invisible once again.

Find the IP Address of a Remote Computer...

1. First Download the IP Finder script (IP_Finder.ZIP) .

2. Open a new account in X10Hosting (or any free host that supports PHP).

3. Extract the IP_Finder.ZIP file and upload the two files ip.php and ip_log.txt into the root folder of your hosting account using the File Manager.

4. You can rename the ip.php to any name of your choice.

5. Set the permission to 777 on ip_log.txt.

Now you are all set to find the IP address of your friend or any remote computer of your choice. All you have to do is send the link of ip.php to your friend or the person with whom you’re chatting. Once the person click’s on the link, his/her IP address is recorded in the file ip_log.txt.

For your better understanding let’s take up the following example.

Suppose you open a new account in X10hosting.com with the subdomain as abc, then your IP Finder link would be

http://abc.x10hosting.com/ip.php

You have to send the above link to you friend via email or while chatting and ask him to visit that link. Once your friend clicks on the link, his IP address will be recorded along with the Date and Time in theip_log.txt file. After recording the IP address, the script will redirect the person to google.com so as to avoid any suspicion.

To find the recorded IP address check the logs using the following link.

HOW TO HACK WITH A IP ADDRESS....

So say somehow somewhere we ended up choosing a target to start wreaking havoc upon. All we need is an IP Address. Theres plenty of papers out there that go into how to obtain an IP Address from the preferred mark of your choice. So I'm not going to go into that subject. Alright so say we got the targets IP Address finally. What do we do with this IP Address. Well first ping the IP Address to make sure that its alive. In otherwords online. Now at the bottom of this document ill include some links where you can obtain some key tools that may help on your journey through the electronic jungle. So we need to find places to get inside of the computer so we can start trying to find a way to "hack" the box. Port Scanners are used to identify the open ports on a machine thats running on a network, whether its a router, or a desktop computer, they will all have ports. Protocols use these ports to communicate with other services and resources on the network.

1) Blues Port Scanner - This program will scan the IP address that you chose and identify open ports that are on the target box.

In example 1 now we see that there are a variety of ports open on this box. Take note of all the ports that you see listed before you. Most of them will be paired up with the type of protocol that uses that port (IE. 80-HTTP 25-SMTP Etc Etc...) Simply take all that information and paste it into notepad or the editor of your choice. This is the beginning of your targets record. So now we know what ports are open. These are all theoretical points of entry where we could wiggle into the computer system. But we all know its not that easy. Alright so we dont even know what type of software or what operating system that this system is running.

2) NMAP - Port Scanner - Has unique OS fingerprinting methods so when the program sees a certain series of ports open it uses its best judgement to guess what operating system its running. Generally correct with my experiences.

So we have to figure out what type of software this box is running if we are gonna start hacking the thing right? Many of you have used TELNET for your MUDS and MOOS and weird multiplayer text dungeons and many of you havent even heard of it before period. TELNET is used to open a remote connection to an IP Address through a Port. So what that means is we are accessing their computer from across the internet, all we need is their IP Address and a port number. With that record you are starting to compile, open a TELNET connection to the IP Address and enter one of the OPEN ports that you found on the target.
So say we typed 'TELNET -o xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 25' This command will open up a connection through port 25 to the IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Now you may see some text at the very top of the screen. You may think, well what the hell, how is that little string of text going to help me. Well get that list you are starting to write, and copy the banners into your compilation of the information youve gathered on your target. Banners/Headers are what you get when you TELNET to the open ports. Heres an example of a banner from port 25.

Now this is a very important part in the enumeration process. You notice it says 'Sendmail 8.12.8/8.12.8' Well what do ya know, we now have discovered a version number. This is where we can start identifying the programs running on the machine. There are some instances in which companies will try and falsify their headers/banners so hackers are unable to find out what programs are truly installed. Now just copy all the banners from all the open ports *Some Ports May Have No Bannners* and organize them in the little record we have of the target. Now we have all the open ports, and a list of the programs running and their version numbers. This is some of the most sensitive information you can come across in the networking world. Other points of interest may be the DNS server, that contains lots of information and if you are able to manipulate it than you can pretend to hotmail, and steal a bunch of peoples email. Well now back to the task at handu. Apart from actual company secrets and secret configurations of the network hardware, you got some good juicy info. http://www.securityfocus.com is a very good resource for looking up software vulnerabilities. If you cant find any vulnerabilities there, search on google. There are many, many, many other sites that post vulnerabilities that their groups find and their affiliates.

At SecurityFocus you can search through vendor and whatnot to try and find your peice of software, or you can use the search box. When i searched SecurityFocus i found a paper on how Sendmail 8.12.8 had a buffer overflow. There was proof of concept code where they wrote the shellcode and everything, so if you ran the code with the right syntax, a command prompt would just spawn. You should notice a (#) on the line where your code is being typed. That pound symbol means that the command prompt window thats currently open was opened as root. The highest privilage on a UNIX/Linux Box. You have just successfully hacked a box. Now that you have a command shell in front of you, you can start doing whatever you want, delete everything if you want to be a fucking jerk, however I dont recommend that. Maybe leave a text file saying how you did it and that they should patch their system.....whoever they are. And many times the best thing you can do is just lay in the shadows, dont let anyone know what you did. More often than not this is the path you are going to want to take to avoid unwanted visits by the authorities.

There are many types of exploits out there, some are Denial of Service exploits, where you shut down a box, or render an application/process unusable. Called denial of service simply because you are denying a service on someones box to everyone trying to access it. Buffer Overflow exploits are involved when a variable inside some code doesnt have any input validation. Each letter you enter in for the string variable will be 1 byte long. Now where the variables are located at when they are in use by a program is called the buffer. Now what do you think overflowing the buffer means. We overflow the buffer so we can get to a totally different memory address. Then people write whats called shellcode in hex. This shellcode is what returns that command prompt when you run the exploit. That wasnt the best description of a buffer overflow, however all you need to remember is that garbage data fills up the data registers so then the buffer overflows and allows for remote execution of almost every command available. There are many, many other types of attacks that cannot all be described here, like man-in-the-middle attacks where you spoof who you are. Performed correctly, the victim will enterhttp://www.bank.com and his connection will be redirected to your site where you can make a username and password box, make the site look legit. And your poor mark will enter their credentials into your site, when they think its really http://www.bank.com. You need to have a small script set up so it will automatiically display like an error or something once they try and log in with their credentials. This makes it seem like the site is down and the victim doenst give it a second thought and will simply try again later.

Bloomberg reports that Motorola likely sold about 100,000 DROID handsets on the first weekend it was available. The sales figures are pointed at as a sign that Motorola is recovering, though it still trials Apple in the market.

Bloomberg reports that Verizon had 200,000 DROID handsets on hand and that stores sold about half their stock of devices the first weekend. Motorola is expected to sell about a million Android handsets in Q4 2009 counting the DROID and other devices. One analyst says that anyone expecting the DROID to outdo the iPhone on opening weekend had their goals set too high.
